Contract Worker 1099
Question: 1099 contract worker – can i quit?
I have just signed a 1099 contract and am wondering if I am able to quit at anytime? Will i get penalized if I quite before my last day of my contract.
In my contract it says that the employer or the employee can terminate at any time from what I remember of it. Also, if giving 2 weeks notice will that be sufficient if I want to quit? Im just nervous I dont know what Im getting myself into.
Answer: Re-read the contract – if it says you can terminate at any time, then you can. If there are any penalties listed in the contract, then you’d be bound by those, otherwise you won’t be penalized.
